How do you describe your counseling style?
I create an environment of non-judgement which provides space to unpack the mental and emotional components of therapy goals. My stance is warm, trauma-informed, and direct when helpful. Relating to my patients with delight and curiosity enables me to support them in processing experiences that can be unbearable or personally stunting. I tune in to bodily behavior and emotional experience to guide and inform about what may be happening under the surface of awareness.
Have you been in therapy yourself?
Yes! I have used a variety of therapy models for my personal growth. I attribute some of my most profound adult developmental milestones to my therapeutic experiences working with wonderful clinicians. Stretching my self-understanding and tapping into new parts of myself with the support of my therapists transformed my relationship to others and to myself.
What kind of patients do you work best with?
Voluntarily showing up to the experience of therapy is inherently a profound commitment to oneself. Patients who utilize that momentum and allow themselves to bring the curiosity to look deeper and the courage to sit with vulnerability are an honor to work with.
