“As a therapist, I believe that you have the capacity to find your way back to yourself. With a long background in the field of dance and training in somatic therapies, I see the body as a powerful window to our feelings and the place where healing really happens. I also know the body can be the site of a lot of wounds, judgements, and shame, making it hard to access. I’m here to help you hold the painful parts so that your natural ability to heal can emerge. Using a combination of somatic, psychodynamic and behavioral approaches I will help you build the self-awareness and compassion needed to feel more at home in yourself.”

Q & A

How do you describe your counseling style?

I believe everyone has an innate drive towards healing. The difficulty can be in letting yourself take up the space you need to get there. Shame and guilt often cause a protective but harsh inner critic to develop. This critic can keep us from taking risks, building authentic reciprocal relationships, or feeling like we are worthy unless we are perfect. With a background in the arts, I bring a passion for the uniqueness that is in each of us. I collaborate with client to create a safe, non-judgemental environment that we can return to each week. This way we can gently expand your capacity to embrace all the parts of you.

Have you been in therapy yourself?

Yes! Therapy has been an integral part of my personal growth and my professional journey to becoming a therapist. I am lucky enough to have had a long relationship with my therapist that has seen me through my own ups and downs. Her presence alongside me has given me a safe foundation from which to believe in myself and take risks that has expanded my own capacity to heal and cope with life’s inevitable challenges.
