How do you describe your counseling style?
I believe relationships are the foundation of well-being. My background in the arts has taught me to listen with all my senses. My approach is to stay both humble and curious - focusing “in the moment” and noticing what shows up. I find when you slow down and embrace the power of experiencing emotions, you are able to process feelings that seem too difficult to confront, especially alone.
What kind of patients do you work best with?
Therapy is the single best thing I have done for myself. It helped me unlock my defenses which had served me well but were preventing me from living my fullest life. I have also been a long-time yoga practitioner which helps me to stay connected in my mind and body.
What books have made the biggest impact on your life?
I thrive on celebrating how a unique worldview can be the key to healing. I am also sensitive to how isolating it can be to be different. I enjoy working with many different types of people, especially those in creative fields. My background working in the arts helps me understand the challenges associated with choosing a creative career path. However, I always feel honored to work with anyone with the courage to tap into their inner strength and who are willing to take steps toward living their best life.
