“I have always been interested in how family of origin patterns repeat themselves and what people can do to rewrite their stories. My practice uses the framework of traditional psychodynamic psychotherapy but we will get results by focussing on your thoughts and feelings in the present, often using the wisdom of what is showing up in your body as a guide. In this way we will move beyond talk therapy into something that feels more active and engaged.

In our sessions, we will slow down and track what is causing the symptoms that are troubling you. By getting under your thoughts and behaviors and processing the emotions below, we will get to the heart of what is causing you pain. The goal of our work is for you to resolve what brought you to therapy, create more meaning in your life, and forge deeper, more connected relationships.”

Q & A

How do you describe your counseling style?

My style is warm, supportive and authentic. I like to be honest and direct as a therapist, but it's important that you know I'm always in your corner. I use an integrative approach, drawing heavily on a powerful form of psychotherapy called Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. Together, we identify what might be blocking you or no longer working for you and we process through whatever is at the root of the problem. By slowing down and staying with what you are feeling, we are able to get to the heart of the issue surprisingly quickly.

Who is your ideal client?

Honestly, I don’t have an ideal client. It is always an incredible privilege to share in the therapeutic journey and I enjoy working with people of many different backgrounds. Having said that, I love helping women find their voices and develop a deep sense of power, joy and connectedness. As someone who has done that work personally, it feels like paying it forward to help others struggling with similar issues.

What books do you recommend to clients?

There are so many terrific books and I tailor any recommendations to the individual, but some of my favorites include Emily Nagoski’s book Come As You Are and Hilary Jacobs Hendel’s It’s Not Always Depression.
